Tata’s Vistara Airline Started Domestic Flight Operation In India
Tata’s Vistara airline started its flight operation in India on 9 January. Vistara flight took off with its first flight from Delhi to Mumbai. Vistara airline is a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines (SIA). Earlier in 2014, Tata Group had to launch a full-service carrier in India with the help of SIA.Vistara will be the third full-service carrier in India, after state-run Air India and private carrier Jet Airways. In December 2014, Vistara announced the launch of its operation from 9 January 2015 with flight from Delhi to Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Legendary Gospel Singer Andrae Crouch Died
Andrae Crouch, a legendary gospel performer, songwriter and choir director whose work graced songs by Michael Jackson and Madonna and movies such as The Lion King has died in Los Angeles. He was 72. Born in San Francisco, Crouch wrote his first gospel tune at the age of 14 and in 1960, he formed the group Church of God in Christ Singers. He wrote several gospels including The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, My Tribute (To God Be the Glory) and Soon and Very Soon. His work graced songs of Michael Jackson,  Elvis Presley and Madonna and movies such as The Lion King. Crouch  was honoured with the 2256nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in 2004. He won a total of 7 Grammy Awards in his career and also received an Academy Award nomination for his arranging work for the 1985 film The Colour Purple.

Prominent Chinese theoretical physicist Yu Min has been awarded State Preeminent Science and Technology Award for 2014. Chinese President Xi Jinping gave him the award in the ceremony held at Great Hall of the People in Beijing. He was awarded for his groundbreaking research which led to the development of China’s first hydrogen bomb in 1967. It was tested after China’s first successful atomic weapons test.
